Two juveniles are critically injured in a weekend fire in Concordia.
According to reports, Concordia police say officers heard a loud noise followed by screaming around 10pm on Saturday night. As they searched for the source of the sounds, 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call that two juveniles had been injured in an accidental fire.
Officers responded to the scene and found the two youngsters suffering from critical burns. Both juveniles were transported to a nearby hospital and then later transferred to a burn unit at a level one trauma center.
Police say the two were injured when they attempted to pour an accelerant on a bonfire. The fire then traveled up the stream of the accelerant to the bottle, causing an explosion.
