The Osage County Commission continues its review of the 2026 budget.

 

One county department whose budget is under review is the Osage County Free Fair Board. Commissioner Charlie Cartwright questioned Fair Board rep Dee Chambers about $11,000 the group has currently sitting in an account. Chambers said the money was earmarked for a specific purpose. Cartwright says he wants to see the statute that governs the use of the funds.

 

Commissioners also reviewed the budget for the Osage County District Attorney's Office. Finance Coordinator Sheila Tolson says the increase for their office has been certified by the state.

 

Commissioners gave their approval to the budget for that department. Budget talks will continue next week.
