Remains of Vietnam War Soldier to Return to Southeast Kansas for Burial

 

The remains of a Kansas soldier killed in the Vietnam War will finally return home for burial.

 

Willis Rozelle Hall served his entire life in the U.S. military, with service in the Merchant Marine, Air Force, Kansas Air National Guard, the U.S. Army and the Air Force. He was serving as a tech sergeant in the Air Force in 1968 when he lost his life during an attack by North Vietnamese soldiers in Laos. He was 41- years old.

 

Hall's remains were identified in June and now, he is returning home for burial in southeast Kansas. Hall's remains will be flown to Wichita on Thursday and funeral services will be held in Altoona on Saturday.

 

Hall was a decorated serviceman having been recognized with numerous awards including the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and the Bronze Star with a V for Valor.

 

A public viewing will be held at the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship in Altoona from 9 to 11am Saturday to be followed by a brief service then burial.
