There’s good news for Montgomery County when it comes to crime.
At yesterday’s Montgomery County Commission meeting, County Attorney Melissa Johnson gave her quarterly report. As part of her report, Johnson explained the current trends in crime rates. She says violent crime has been falling over the past two years.
Additionally, Johnson says non-violent and property crime has dropped as well.
Johnson added that drug crimes continue to be the most frequent offense committed in the county. She also told commissioners that her office has been working hard to reduce the backlog of criminal case and that there are currently 25 criminal trials scheduled in Montgomery County.
