There's a chance of a wet start to the football season in Kansas.

Periodic showers and storms are possible today through midnight with breaks in the rain expected through the day. Coffeyville and Independence have a 50% chance of rain today, with greater chances north and west from Montgomery County. Pockets of heavy rain are possible and a few storms will be capable of dime to nickel-size hail.

Storm chances in northeast Oklahoma will be between 20 and 30% today and tonight.
