The Kansas Highway Patrol releases its traffic data from the long Labor Day weekend.
The reporting period began at 6pm on Friday and ran through midnight on Monday. During that time period, K-H-P troopers assisted 643 motorists and issued 579 speeding citations and 70 seat belt tickets. Troopers were called in to work one DUI-related crash that resulted in two fatalities. While the totoal numbers of citations issued this year was lower than in 2023 and 2024, all other measures remained consistent over the past three years.
