A juvenile suspect is in custody after leading police on a multi-county car chase that ended in Joplin.
The chase began in Galena when a G-P-D officer attempted to stop a blue Kia after it ran a stop sign. The driver fled the scene and police pursued the car. As the chase began, a passenger bailed out of the car and ran into a nearby field. Police pursued the Kia into Missouri, where the driver crashed the car into the yard of a Joplin home. The driver then fled on foot, but was later located by a K-9 officer and arrested.
The suspect was identified as a juvenile runaway from Nixa, Missouri. The Kia had been reported stolen in Jasper County, Missouri.
