A southwest Missouri man is arrested following a brief standoff with police on Sunday.

59-year-old Kevin Lewis of Wentworth, Missouri, was taken into custody on Sunday afternoon after a domestic situation led to a police standoff with SWAT team deployment. Law enforcement was called to Lewis' rural Lawrence County residence on Sunday morning after reports that the man had threatened his wife. The woman managed to escape the residence without injury. Lewis refused to exit his home when officers arrived on the scene and remained inside the residence for several more hours. When the SWAT team was called in, Lewis surrendered peacefully without any further incident.

Lewis is currently being held without bond on charges of domestic assault, felony kidnapping, and armed criminal action.
