The body of a missing northwest Arkansas man is recovered from the waters of the Arkansas River near Fort Smith.
Donald McGrew was recovered from the Arkansas River on Saturday after his car was found floating in the water last Monday morning. McGrew’s vehicle was spotted in the water by a barge operator near a boat ramp in Springhill Park and a search effort was begun soon after. The passenger car was pulled out of about ten feet of water, nearly 30 feet from the shoreline. The Barling Police Department used drones, boats, and dive teams in an effort to locate the missing man. The official search was called off on Tuesday due to strong river flow.
McGrew was discovered in the water yesterday by fisherman.
