Two KDOT Projects to Begin Tomorrow

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin two projects in southeast Kansas tomorrow.

The first project will be the repair of a bridge deck on US-75 located about two miles north of Yates Center. The highway will be reduced to one lane and traffic will be guided by traffic signals. The project will allow for smoother traffic movement in the area and will be done by KDOT Yates Center subarea crews.

The second project will replace a culvert on K-7 at the intersection of Star Valley Road between Scammon and Columbus. This is a larger project and preparatory work will begin in the area tomorrow. K-7 will be closed in that location starting on September 15 to repair drainage at the intersection. The project should be completed, weather permitting, by October 1.

KDOT urges motorists to stay alert and follow posted signs in these and all other work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 511.
