An Oklahoma state lawmaker pleads guilty to charges of domestic abuse and misdemeanor assault in Pawnee County.
State representative Ty Burns received a one-year suspended sentence after pleading guilty to three misdemeanor charges involving family members that occurred on two different occasions. The 46-year-old Burns has taken full responsibility for his actions and is currently undergoing treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As part of his sentence, Burns will be required to complete a Batterers Intervention Program.
