An Independence man faces multiple charges following an incident earlier this week.
Just after 10 on Wednesday morning, officers from the Independence Police Department were dispatched to the 1600 block of North 10th Street. Upon arrival, they found evidence of criminal damage. An investigation led to the arrest of a suspect in the case, identified as 43-year-old Derek Patton. Patton was taken into custody and faces charges of criminal damage, assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, and interference with a law enforcement officer.
He is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail in Independence.
