Public Works will be on the agenda at tonight's Independence City Commission meeting.
The department is expected to request the purchase of a new diesel engine replacement for a pump at the City Water Treatment Plant. The engine for the pump failed on August 3, and approval was given to replace it at the August 14th commission meeting. Commissioners are expected to approve the request for just over $42,000 to replace the engine.
An additional request will be made for $238,000 for a maintenance project on the Laurel Street water tower.
Tonight's meeting begins at 5:30 in the Commission Room at City Hall. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the City's website.
