Wann Man Convicted of Manslaughter in DUI Crash

 

A Wann man is convicted of first-degree manslaughter in a 2023 DUI crash with a UTV.

 

37-year-old Jesse Thornton was convicted yesterday in a Washington County Courtroom for his role in the accident that killed 58-year-old Shelly Beaston on July 15, 2023. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Thornton had been drinking before driving the Ford F-150 that struck Beaston's UTV side-by-side head-on. Thornton was driving in the wrong lane of traffic when the accident occurred. Beaston's husband Mike, was also injured in the accident. Toxicology reports following the accident showed Thornton's Blood Alcohol Content was .11.

 

Thornton will face sentencing on October 17.
