Labor Day weekend is coming up, and with it comes a busy travel weekend.
More than 148 million Americans are planning to travel this weekend, with many of them planning just a short trip to the lake or beach or to visit friends and family. Shawn Steward with Triple-A Kansas says, no matter the length of the trip you're planning, make sure your vehicle is ready to go.
Even if you can't get your car into the shop for a check-up, Steward says to cover the basics before you begin your trip.
Steward says the best time to travel during the busy weekend during the mornings in order to avoid heavier traffic.
