Radio transmission towers and courthouse improvements are topics of discussion at this week's Nowata County Commission meeting.

 

New Alluwe Fire Chief Tommy Gibson spoke at the meeting. He told commissioners that the communications tower at Oklahoma Union is now live and operational. However, other county towers may be in need of repairs. Commissioner Brandon Wesson says the tower in Wann has some leaks.

 

In other business, commissioners discussed ongoing courthouse improvements and received an estimate of just over $8,000 from Oklahoma Roofing and Sheet Metal, based out of Oklahoma City. The board also discussed replacing air filters in the courthouse.

 

The Nowata County Commissioners will meet again next Tuesday, September 2. They also announced that the Nowata County Courthouse will be closed next Monday in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
