The courthouse annex project in Osage County is seeing delays.

 

That was the word at this week's Osage County Commission meeting in Pawhuska. Commission Chair Charlie Cartwright told his colleagues that delays to the project are happening because of change orders. These delays are, in turn, resulting in a shortened timeline to move county offices to their new locations. Project Manager Dalton Higgins says the process has been something like musical chairs.

 

The current plan includes moving the county treasurer's office by October 29. Higgins says that date tightens the timetable for his office because work will continue there starting in November.

 

Higgins added that his team is willing to do whatever is needed to meet that schedule. Commissioners also decided that any further change orders on the project will require commission approval.
