This Friday, the City of Coffeyville will host the grand reopening of the historic fountain at Pfister Park.
The fountain, which is also known as the Sunken Garden Fountain, was originally built in 1935 as part of a Works Progress Administration or WPA project. The Coffeyville landmark has been carefully restored over the summer months in order to preserve its beauty and to provide a lasting legacy for future generations of Coffeyville citizens.
In order to honor this part of Coffeyville history, the City will hold a Grand Reopening and Ribbon-Cutting ceremony this Friday. The public is invited to attend the celebration that will feature comments from Coffeyville Mayor Deborah Maples, State Representative Dr. Ron Bryce, and Park Advisory Board member Lisa Brookover.
Friday's ceremony begins at 11am at Pfister Park.
