ICC Names New Director of William Inge Center

 

Independence Community College announces that the school has named a new Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts.

 

The college has chosen Ashley Hovell to lead the center named for the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and Independence native William Inge. Hovell is an accomplished actor, director, and theater educator with more than a decade of experience in the performing arts. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Performance from the university of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts from Randolph College. She has performed in and directed productions at several theater companies across the country and has several film credits to her name.

 

Hovell called The William Inge Center for the Arts a cornerstone of both ICC and the Independence community, and that the center carries forward a legacy of one of America’s greatest playwrights
