A small plane crash in north central Kansas kills one.

76-year-old David Kadel of Concordia was killed Sunday when his fixed-wing, single-engine plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Concordia Airport. The small plane left the airport just after 7pm when a possible mechanical issue occurred. The plane then lost altitude and nose dived into the ground.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
