Culvert Project to Begin After Labor Day Near Columbus

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a culvert replacement project in Cherokee County between Scammon and Columbus just after Labor Day.

Preparatory work on the project on K-7 at Star Valley Road will begin on September 2. Starting on September 15, K-7 will be closed at the intersection with Star Valley Road to repair drainage and improve traffic flow in the area. The $578,000 project will be conducted by Heck and Wickler, Inc. of Parsons and is expected to be completed by the end of September.

KDOT reminds drivers to stay alert and follow posted signage in this and all work zones. For current road conditions, visit kandrive.gov or call 5-1-1.
