The Montgomery County Commission is set to meet today to discuss the 2026 budget for the Rural Fire Department.

At today’s meeting, commissioners will hold a budget hearing concerning Montgomery County Rural Fire District No. 1. This will be the opportunity for taxpayers to voice any objections they might have to the way Rural Fire is spending its allotted money. Also at today’s meeting, Public Works Director Brandon Beurskins will be on hand to review bids for C-M-P pipe. Commissioners will also hear a quarterly report from Juvenile County Corrections.

Today’s meeting begins at 9am in the Commission Room on the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the County’s website.
