USD 446 and the City of Independence met last night at Memorial Hall for a joint work session regarding the usage agreement of the Central Park Sports Complex.
The City is asking for the district to pay $70,000 per year for 15 years, with a reserve fund for replacement. The agreement would also give Independence schools priority use for home athletic events.
City Finance Director Lacey Lies says they determined the number by evaluating the football stadium agreement with ICC.
No action was taken regarding the usage agreement. USD 446 Vice President Marty Reichenberger says he feels the district deserves a facility they can be proud of.
The school board will continue discussing the usage agreement at the September board meeting.
