The Chanute Police Department has made three arrests in separate incidents over the past week.

 

Yesterday, officers responded to the 3300 block of Blue Comet Drive to serve an arrest warrant. Following a brief foot chase, police arrested 24-year-old Matric Scott, of Kincaid. Scott was taken into custody for the warrant along with several additional charges, including felony interference with a law enforcement officer, criminal use of a weapon involving a firearm, criminal carry of a weapon, criminal use of an explosive and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

 

In a separate case on Tuesday, Chanute Police arrested 21-year-old Dakota Pearson, of Chanute, following an investigation that began in March into allegations of sexual abuse. Pearson was booked on charges of rape of a victim less than 14, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

 

On Sunday, officers responded to the 600 block of West Beech Street for a domestic disturbance. Police arrested 46-year-old Jimmy Perguson of Chanute for domestic battery.
