Missouri Governor Kehoe Appoints State's First Female Attonrey General

 

The State of Missouri has a new attorney general, and for the first time ever, the new A-G is a woman.

 

Yesterday, Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe announced the appointment of Former Missouri House Speaker Cathernine Hanaway as the state's 45th Attorney General. Hanaway is a former federal prosecutor and Republican candidate for Missouri Governor. She served as the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri from 2005 to 2009. Hanaway was also the first and only female Speaker of the Missouri House a Representatives, a role in which she served from 2003 to 2005. Her most recent work was as a private practice attorney for a St. Louis law firm.

 

Hanaway replaces former Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, who recently resigned to take a position in the FBI with the Trump administration.
