OK AG's Office Send Agents to Okemah After Five Leave Police Force

The Oklahoma Attorney General's Office sends agents to the City of Okemah after five members of the City's police force were either terminated or resigned.

State Attorney General Gentner Drummond sent the state agents at the request of the City of Okemah to assist with law enforcement duties in the town located about 20 miles west of Henryetta. The agents will maintain law enforcement operations in the small town with a population of just over 3,000 people until new personnel can be hired for the local police department.

The Attorney General's Office says it will work closely with city officials to transition back to local control.
