The Montgomery County Commission looks to examine the issue of Kansas residents with Oklahoma tags on their vehicles.
At today’s commission meeting, a Montgomery County resident asked the commission why it seems like so many county residents drive vehicles with Oklahoma tags. The man told commissioners that he had asked a similar question at a Coffeyville City Commission meeting and was told the County Attorney does not have the resources to deal with the issue. The man says it's both an issue of following the law and of lost revenue to the County.
Montgomery County Treasurer Nancy Clubine says a move to pursue such individuals is not without precedent. She says Coffeyville made a similar push several years ago and was very successful.
Commissioners agreed with the citizen and promised to raise the issue with the Montgomery County Attorney.
