Heat Continues Across Four-State Region

 

The hot weather continues today across the four-state region.

 

Heat advisories remain in effect today for northeast Oklahoma, southwest Missouri, northwest Arkansas, and parts of southeast Kansas.

 

In Kansas, no advisory has been issued for the central and southeast parts of the state, but highs today will remain in the upper 90s with heat index values in the triple digits through tomorrow. Crawford, Cherokee, and Bourbon counties join southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas in a heat advisory that remains in effect through 8pm tonight. The heat index in those areas is expected to reach 105. Northeastern Oklahoma is also under a heat advisory from noon to 8pm today with a heat index around 107.

 

Those who must be outside today are advised to take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.
