Hot Weather Safety Tips

With the hot weather comes the risk of heat-related illness, especially for those who work outside.

Children, the elderly, and those with health conditions are also susceptible to the heat. For those who plan to be outside, make sure to drink plenty of water, dress in lightweight clothing, and limit strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day.

Recognize the symptoms of heat illness, such as leg cramps, weakness, dizziness, headache, and nausea. If you experience any of those symptoms, move to a cool place, apply cool, wet cloths to the skin, and drink water in small sips. Monitor symptoms and seek medical attention if they do not improve.

Stay safe and stay cool in the hot weather.
