The City of Neodesha officially opens its new power generation facility.
City officials, representatives from the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency, and Foley Power Solutions, along with many Neodesha residents, gathered yesterday afternoon for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Neodesha's new power generation facility. KMEA General Manager Paul Mahlberg says the four new power generators will be a big asset for the security of the community.
Neodesha City Manager Brogan Jones says the investment in the generators will be an important power backup for critical infrastructure in the city.
The City began planning for the project in January 2023 under the leadership of then-City Manager Ed Truelove. Treulove was on hand at yesterday's ceremony, having recently been sworn in to fill a vacant seat on the City Commission. Yesterday's ceremony was followed by a reception at City Hall.
