Young Bobcats Captured on Trail Cam While Hunting in Near Nowata

Three young bobcats are caught on a trail camera while hunting for prey near Nowata.

The images were recently posted on social media by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. In the video, the three young animals can be seen chasing and catching a small animal that appears to be a rabbit. Bobcats are plentiful in Oklahoma as they prefer habitats such as forests with woods and water. However, they can be found almost anywhere, including swamplands, deserts, and even in urban areas. Bobcats are roughly twice the size of a normal housecat, ranging between 10 and 30 pounds. Their elusive nature causes them to shy away from humans. They prefer to eat small animals such as rabbits, birds, and squirrels. Larger bobcats are frequently mistaken for the much larger mountain lion.

The video of the cats can be found on the ODWC Facebook page.
