The City of Independence is looking for applicants to fill a vacant seat on the city Tree Board.
The purpose of the tree board is to preserve local natural resources and to promote and protect public health by overseeing the planting, maintenance, and removal of trees on public property. Applicants must be residents of the City of Independence and be willing and able to attend tree board meetings. Board members may also be asked to assist in educating the public about tree advocacy.
Applications are due to the city by August 27th.
