The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating an incident involving two student athletes at Dodge City Community College.

The two students have both been hospitalized following what the school has described as a medical incident. One of the students was found unconscious on a field near the college last Thursday afternoon. That student and another were both taken to the hospital in Dodge City for treatment. One was treated and released, while the unconscious student was airlifted to Wichita and remains hospitalized in critical condition.

There are indications that suggest the students' illnesses may be heat-related, but Dodge City Community College has not confirmed if that is the case.
