The Parsons School District is set to begin a multi-year project to replace and repair the roofs of the district's school buildings.
The USD 503 School Board this week approved plans to begin work on the roof of Garfield Elementary by the end of the month. The roof of that building is the oldest and has several leaks. The guttering on the building has also been non-functional for some time. The contract for the job was awarded to S-I-C Midwest of St. Louis for $348,000. Work on the building will be able to take place while students are in class. Repairs on Lincoln Elementary are scheduled to begin next fall.
Classes in Parsons are scheduled to begin on August 20th.
