A 63-year-old Joplin man is dead after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle on a Joplin street.

The accident happened just before 10pm on Saturday night. Authorities say the man was riding in the right lane of West 7th Street/Missouri-66 when he was struck from behind by a 2010 Honda Accord driven by a 20-year-old woman from Galena.

The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
