The USD 446 Independence School Board will meet tonight to address a lengthy agenda.
Much of tonight’s meeting will concern personnel as the Board is expected to accept the resignation of four employees while approving the new employment of 18 individuals, including a new classroom teacher for Jefferson School, a new Head Track Coach at the middle school, and a new assistant baseball coach at HIS. Other new hires include Kids Crew staff, food service staff, and classroom aides and paras. The Board will also recognize Keonhee Han for winning a KDSE Transportation Art Award, members of the HIS drama department for winning the 2025 Jester Awards, and Ethan Small for winning the 2025 4A Golf State Championship.
There will also be a discussion of pay raises for various district employees and the publication of the 2025-26 School Year Budget.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 7pm in the library at Independence High School. The public is invited to attend.
