City crews in Parsons work to repair a water main leak.

Crews were busy on Friday morning after a break was discovered in a 10-inch water main near the intersection of Gabriel and Central Streets. A three foot by ten inch wide section of the pipe ruptured, causing an eight foot break in the water line. The City was able to keep water flowing for most residents during the time repairs were being made, though there was some loss of service to areas closest to the break. Crews were able to fix the problem by noon on Friday, allowing pressure in the City’s water towers to return to normal. No boil water advisory was issued at the time of the break.
