Members of the Coffeyville Fire Department brush up on their water rescue skills.

 

Firefighters attended the training session held in Chanute last weekend to update their Kansas Task Force 4 skills. Core skills includes training in surface water rescue, swiftwater rescue, and flood water rescue. The training included in-water exercises such as safe boat handling, capsized boat rescue, building rope systems to assist and control boat movements in water, and swimming tests.

 

The Coffeyville Fire Department was joined by firefighters from departments in Chanute, Neodesha, Parsons, and Pittsburg.
