Authorities in Tahlequah recover a body from the Illinois River.
The discovery was made Thursday afternoon when several people who were floating on the river reported the body to authorities. The body was removed from the water around 1pm and was discovered to be the remains of a man.
The Grand River Dam Authority is handling an investigation into the incident. G-R-D-A says the Medical Examiner will determine the individual's identity, cause of death, and how long the person was in the water.
The Cherokee Marshall, EMS, and the Green Country Funeral Home also responded to the scene.
