Students in Independence enjoyed activities at the Indy Goes Back to School last night at Riverside Park.
Students and parents, along with faculty and staff from USD 44,6 braved the heat last night to officially kick off the start of the new school year. Those in attendance enjoyed performances by the IHS band and the IHS dance and cheer teams, as well as picking up a free Bulldog Bag for dinner.
The Independence Fire Department was also on hand to provide some relief from the hot weather with a ladder truck to spray water on event goers enjoying one last blast of summer.
