Students in area school districts head back to class over the next few weeks, and it's important for drivers to get back in the habit of sharing the roads with kids on their way to school.

 Drivers should remember to obey school zone speed limits, be alert when driving near schools, and make eye contact with children who are crossing the street. Never pass a bus loading or unloading students.

Keep these rules in mind as students get back to classes. Those heading back to school next week include Howard on Monday, and Neodesha and Independence on Wednesday. Students in Caney, South Coffeyville, Nowata, and Sedan begin classes on Thursday.
