A heat advisory is in effect today for the four-state area, with an extreme heat warning in parts of Oklahoma.
Southeast Kansas, southwest Missouri, northeast Oklahoma and a portion of northeast Arkansas are included in a heat advisory today, with a heat index between 104 and 109 possible. Washington and Nowata Counties and areas to the south are included in an extreme heat warning, where the heat index could exceed 110. Triple-digit heat indexes remain possible tomorrow and Sunday afternoon. After a cool down, warmer temperatures will return by Thursday of next week.
