School in the USD-436 begins next Thursday, and preparations are being made, including the activation of the school zone flashing lights.

 Caney Police Chief Ike Dye says there's a reason the zones have been activated early.

 Dye says Caney police will be increasing their presence in the school zones this year, and asks residents to use caution as students return to school.
