Police in Fredonia make an arrest in an attempted kidnapping.
Fredonia police conducted an extensive manhunt yesterday in search of the suspect in the incident that occurred around 1am on Wednesday, August 6. At that time, officers responded to reports of what was believed to be a juvenile female seen entering an SUV against her will. Police searched and canvassed the area near the 1000 block of Quincy Street in search of the victim and suspect. Acting on tips from the public, police obtained and executed a search warrant on a residence in the 800 block of North 13th Street in Fredonia around 3:25 yesterday afternoon. Officers located the victim, who was confirmed not to be a juvenile, at that time. The victim was found safe, and a suspect was taken into custody.
21-year-old Aden Coats was arrested at the scene and booked into the Wilson County Jail on charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Domestic Battery.
Fredonia Police are continuing to investigate the case.
