Congregate meals will be back in Elk County starting on Monday.

Beginning on Monday, the community meals that are open to anyone in Elk County will once again be available at the Senior Center in Howard. The Meals on Wheels and Friendship Meals were temporarily halted in Elk County after the previous provider Everfull had its contract canceled with the South Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging. S-C-K-A-A worked to maintain home meal deliveries through the month of July, but the in-person meals were put on a temporary pause. Those interested in the in-person meals can pick up menus at the Howard Senior Center at 148 North Wabash.

The meals resume at noon on Monday.
