It's back-to-school time across the four-state region, and Independence is ready to start the year off with a party.
This Thursday evening, USD 446 marks the start of another school year with Indy Goes Back to School. The annual event at Riverside Park is held as a way to celebrate students as they head back to class. Independence Chamber President Lisa Wilson says there will be fun activities for all students.
Wilson says there will even be a free dinner.
Indy Goes Back to School happens Thursday night from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Riverside Park oval. The school year begins for all Independence students on August 13th.
