Teams from the four-state area continue play in the regional tournaments for the Little League World Series in an effort to earn their way to Williamsport.
The 12-and-under teams from Kansas and Missouri are competing in the Midwest Regional Tournament in Whitestown, Indiana, while Oklahoma and Arkansas teams are playing in the Southwest Region in Waco, Texas. Arkansas was eliminated in the early rounds of the tournament, losing to Oklahoma and Mississippi. Oklahoma dropped their second game to Louisiana before defeating New Mexico. They played Texas West yesterday, where they won by a score of 12 to 9. They will move on to the semi-final game against Texas East today at 2pm.
In the Midwest region, the Missouri team from Webb City met the Kansas team from Pittsburg in the first round, with Webb City coming out on top 6-0. Kansas faced Iowa yesterday and lost 16 to 4and were eliminated from the tournament. The Webb City team faces Nebraska today at 10am as they attempt to move on to the next round of play.
