A motorcyclist is dead after an accident near the north-central Kansas town of Smith Center.

Just after 5pm on Friday evening, a Chevy Silverado towing a trailer was traveling eastbound on US-36 just east of Smith Center when it slowed to make a left turn into a cemetery. The vehicle was then struck from behind by a motorcycle driven by 70-year-old Mark Hollenbeck of Parker, Nebraska. Hollenbeck was fatally injured in the crash.

No one in the other vehicle was hurt.
