Missouri Highway Patrol troopers say speed may have led to a deadly motorcycle accident in Newton County that killed the operator.
The crash happened after 11:30 Monday morning at the intersection of Marten and Aspen Roads near Diamond.
Troopers say the motorcycle was traveling east on Aspen Road at a high rate of speed and tried to turn north onto Marten Road. Because of the high speed, the motorcyclist lost control and skidded into a field.
The motorcycle operator died at the scene. Their name has not been released, per protocol by the MSHP.
