Crews from the Hutchinson Fire Department rescue three people from the waters of the Arkansas River.

Around 2:30 yesterday afternoon, emergency crews were called to a city park in Hutchinson for reports of people in the Arkansas River. When they arrived on the scene, crews found three people holding on to a tree in the river. The water had risen significantly, trapping the people in the water, and the swift current prevented them from being able to escape on their own.

The victims were pulled from the water without incident and treated by EMS. No other injuries were reported.
